Why House Keeping department is the BackBone of a Hotel?

I work at a hotel and yes house keeping is very important but one department that will destroy hotel operations if not run propertly is laundry. I have worked for 4 &5 diamond hotels and if laudry is not operated properly all hotel operations suffer. House keeping cannot turn rooms, restaurants cannot turn tables and banquets doesn't have enough linen to set a room. Room cleanliness is important and can destroy a guests opinion of a hotel. Without linen the whole process is slowed down and house keepers end up cutting corners. Just as in any department you have to have the tools to do the job.
