What should you do when a "free-with-purchase gift" is not shipped?

I ordered an a gift basket for my mother for her birthday. The items I selected and paid for were included in the gift basket; however a few of the items that were supposed to be included with every shipment were not there. These were small and insignificant items, but would have made the gift basket that much more special. Should I contact the company and try to get them to ship them or just let it p because they were technically "freebies"?
