What authors would you recommend?

I like mystery/suspense/thrillers . . . have read everything by Stuart Woods and also like Mary Higgins Clark & Sue Grafton. Are there other authors who write similar style books that you could recommend? Perhaps people who also write series of books with the same characters? Thanks!
